Surviving the heat?

I hope everyone survived the heat wave we experienced this week! Unfortunately, August will probably get even hotter.

This week we started Chapter 2 and have talked about simiarities and differences between humans and primates. I found an interesting video on termiting that relates the work of Jane Goodall, the famous chimp researcher and advocate we talked about in class.

Rememeber to post Journal C by 9:00am Monday (July 18)! The topic is "A Restaurant Experience in the U.S." I look forward to reading about your eating adventures!

  1. A Restaurant Experience in the U.S.
Each country has its own popular food. And I was a real privilege to me to discover American foods. In fact, whenever I arrived here in Atlanta last January I have been invited by friends to eat in a restaurant called Waffle House. There I could notice warmth of waiters and delighted to serve us good meals. Moreover, I read at the menu some foods that I knew before, and others I had not eaten yet such as pizza, hamburger, cheese, ketchup... Then by curiosity, I ordered each of them, but I joked with the waiter that if they are not good I will not $ 1 because my money is not enough; and whenever I tried them, I was loving them, very delicious and I started feeling on another planet. Then I was happy to pay the bill and added $ 3 as a tip. About the ketchup I knew it, but I was always surprised nay a little shocked to see people eat the tomato paste. In my culture, we eat the tomato but prepared into the sauce and not to eat it simply. However, today I became dependent on the ketchup and the cheese, and that without those I cannot savor a food.
